Abstract
Global warming that the greatest disaster for last period is the effects increased and developed rapidly by human activity. Urbanization and buildings which are the main items of cities, constitute a important part of the greenhouse gasses and especially carbon emissions. These negative effects can be minimized by the measures and the high technology. Green buildings that built for this purpose provide protection of natural resources and reduce carbon emissions. In this study, a small green building was designed with minimum cost. Carbon footprint and cost differences are shown by comparing the cost of construction -design and the carbon emissions in between a green building and traditional building. As a result of the work, it is seen that even a small building can be constructed as a green building, even if the initial investment cost is high, it will pay off the cost in near future. The buildings that decreased infrastructure, carbon-free and self sufficent for energy will create reduced carbon emissions settlements. Therefore, green buildings will be an important step for slowdown of global warming.
