Abstract
Today, the most popular type of transportation is road. A large part of the passenger and cargo transportation is made by land. It is possible to get to the point where the transportation is difficult because of the development of road transportation. In our country, the landforms are very effective in determining the land route. Bridge, however, is an important element in road transportation today. Bridges and overpasses are often preferred in resolving urban traffic problems, especially in metropolitan cities. In addition to aesthetics in highway constructions, it is necessary to bring together materials and techniques in the best possible way. Therefore, the bridges designed should have sufficient resilience as well as an architecture that is pleasantly aesthetically pleasing. Therefore, it is necessary to design the bridges like every structure considering the purpose of use. In order to achieve the expected strength of the construction, it is very important to select the appropriate material qualities and the appropriate section. It is also very important for the design of the cross-section, the connection shapes that can transfer the cross-sectional effects and the geometry that will work constructively efficiently under load.
