Abstract
The most important parameter that reveals the behavior characteristics of unsaturated soils is the soil-water characteristic curve. It has a key role to analyze the unsaturated soil behavior. In this study, three different clayey soils obtained from a landfill area were used. Suction measurements were made on the consolidated samples using filter paper method. In addition, soil-water characteristic curves were examined in order to predict unsaturated soil behavior. The effect of the physical properties of the soil on the soil-water characteristic curve was investigated. The results were consistent with the results of clayey soils in the literature. In addition, the suitability of different curve-fitting models to experimental results was examined.
