AN EXAMPLE APPLICATION FOR EARTHQUAKE RISK ANALYSIS AND EARTHQUAKE SCENARIO

Akyazı district, which is a district of Sakarya province and located in the first degree earthquake zone, was affected vitally and environmentally from 17 August 1999 Marmara earthquake and previous earthquakes. The settlement is located on the North Anatolian Fault line, which must always be prepared for earthquake hazard by its location. In this study, the people living in the previous earthquakes that occurred in Akyazı district were analyzed and their effects and current situation were analyzed. The earthquake scenario was prepared by evaluating the current state of Akyazı district in terms of the previous earthquake information and building stock in the light of the obtained information. It is aimed to establish a base for the administrations by determining the possible loss of settlement, capacity (tent requirements and areas, fire brigade, hospital etc.).
