Abstract
The first and most important factor of the earthquake resistant structural design is a convenient load-bearing system design. The most important factor in analyzing the structural elements of the structural system is to determine the section behavior realistically. Reinforced concrete is a building material whose behavior is nonlinear. All approaches that do not consider real behavior, gives inexact results. In this study; a reinforced concrete beam section whose dimensions are kept constant. The effective flexural stiffnesses were calculated by using the XTRACT program by using parameters such as stirrups spacing, longitudinal reinforcement ratio and concrete strength. The calculated effective flexural stiffness values were compared with the values given in TEC (2007), TECB (2019) and Eurocode-8. Reality of the values given in the codes has been researched.
